I’ve made another video! This time it’s about the strange world of Quantum Field Theory, and a feature of it that is criminally misunderstood – virtual particles. Virtual particles are often cited as evidence that things can come into existence from nothing, since they pop into existence out of the quantum vacuum.
Whether or not they actually do appear from nothing, it’s disputed whether virtual particles are actually real. After all, they cannot be observed and some physicists claim they’re just useful computational tools, not actually existing.
In this video I analyse the arguments for and against the existence of virtual particles, and discuss whether or not they show that something can come from nothing.
Take a look at the video, and if you enjoy it, like and subscribe for more!
